Alana Abramson

Alana is an experienced leader and has extensive mediation and group facilitation experience in justice, community and school settings. She holds a PhD in Criminology on the topic of transformational learning. As a former Executive Director for a non-profit organization, Alana’s experience in mentoring and leadership has provided her with a unique skill set that combines academic understanding with practical knowledge. In addition to training with ACHIEVE, she is a full-time faculty member in criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she continues to inspire and be inspired by students and diverse colleagues. Alana believes in collaborative dialogue and life-long learning as a source of personal and social transformation. She is an engaging presenter who is passionate about her work, which allows her to easily facilitate ongoing learning for workshop participants.

Alison Granger-Brown

Alison has a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Training and in Human Development, with a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems. She has twelve years of experience as an entrepreneur in the specialty food industry and fifteen years of experience providing services to individuals and groups within the provincial and federal correctional systems. Throughout her career she has nurtured a passion for healthy organizations and workplaces. She believes that leaders should nurture a belief in what is possible, now and in the future; this generates opportunity for innovation, productivity, creativity, health, and well-being. Alison has experience in intercultural collaborative research and specializes in transformational learning and nurturing hope. Through her interactive approach, easygoing style, and action-oriented focus, Alison leaves participants with ideas and practical steps they can implement to produce results.

Registration Information

Register early! Seating is limited.

Children and unregistered guests are not permitted in the meeting rooms.

The early registration rate is available for those participants who submit both their registration form and payment 3 weeks before the workshop.

Participants will receive a spiral bound training manual and a certificate of completion.

Workshop Schedule

The workshops start at 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 4:00 p.m. Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. on the first day to check in and receive a training manual. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m., unless otherwise stated above. Our half-day workshops start at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled seven or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively, you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than seven days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name and email address of the alternate person who will be attending.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrollment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel and accommodation arrangements with this in mind.

Group Registration Instructions

To register a group for a workshop, register for selected workshop, then once in shopping cart, add quantity of participants and provide names of all participants.
